Tourist triggers a reaction from inside out. His music cerebrally resonates first, and the ensuing response physically manifests, inspiring you to nod your head, move your body, or at the very least, smile. The GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer has quietly impacted electronic music and popular culture at large with his inventive alchemy of styles, absorbing elements of house, dance, psychedelic, and alternative into a living and breathing signature sound. The UK native born William Phillips introduced his artistry with the self-titled Tourist EP during 2012. He separated himself as a boundary-breaking phenomenon with a procession of acclaimed albums, including [2016], Everyday [2019], Wild [2019], Inside Out [2022], and Memory Morning [2024]. Along the way, he gathered nearly a billion streams powered by the international resonance of songs such as “We Stayed Up All Night” [feat. Ardyn], “Howl” [with Elderbrook], “Bunny,” and more. Along the way, he even garnered a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Song of the Year” for co-writing “Stay with Me” by Sam Smith. Simultaneously, he emerged as the rare presence equally sought-after for remixes by everyone from The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia to Deftones, Wolf Alice, and Flume. Beyond performing to sold-out crowds around the globe, he shined at major festivals a la Primavera SoundField Day, and more. However, his most formative influences called to him the loudest in 2025. He initially discovered trance at 12-years-old, diving into the music of Tiësto, Sasha & John Digweed, Moby, Orbital, and Underworld as well as early Ministry of Sound compilations. This creative sojourn has naturally brought him back to where it all began as he leans into trance on his sixth full-length album.
