David Balfe, the songwriter, producer and visual creative behind Dublin’s For Those I Love has become one of Ireland’s most acclaimed contemporary voices, merging local storytelling with electronic music to explore class, grief, modern life and the friendships that underpin it. His self-titled 2021 debut earned widespread critical praise along with the Choice Music Prize, as his follow up Carving The Stone turned its gaze more critically inward, with a darker twist. 2026 saw Carving The Stone re-imagined as a strictly dancefloor record, performed as a once off, but teasing a return to the warehouse sonics that inspired his debut. His live shows combine a love for intimate performance with the theatrical, bringing together tales in a Dublin brogue and rattling club numbers
